A mini break is either Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights or Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday nights.
Withybed Yurts are positioned beside a farm track near to the Deer Park on Stroud farm which is a mixed farm with cattle, sheep and cereals.
This yurt camp is facing west to maximise the stunning sunsets. Roe deer often come and graze between the wood and field edges. Tawny and Barn owls will be heard most nights. In May and June listen out for the Nightingale too.
A small seasonal stream runs below the site between two woods on either side of this private campsite.
Withybed camp has three sleeping yurts, two of which have one double and two single beds with a futon that will be made up if required in the booking, then one yurt with 4 single futons. A fourth yurt is the living area with a dresser including a two ring gas hob, low table and seating.
Other facilities include a covered kitchen area with a gas oven and a solar powered fridge. A compost loo and bath under the stars (very popular!) with hot water from a wood fired hot water tank, gas shower..
The site is child friendly and we welcome up to two dogs on this site. Hen do's and group bookings are also welcome at Withybed.
There are excellent train links nearby at Sherborne, from which Stock Gaylard is a 10 minute taxi ride, there is a taxi office at the station.
We recommend Dike & Son, our local family run supermarket in Stalbridge for groceries. They sell a range of local produce plus all the well known brands you use every day.
In addition we can provide Venison from the estate POA.

Came here from Monday-Friday for my 21st with a group of friends and we had the most incredible time. The camp site is beautiful, really well decorated and surprisingly luxurious - the beds are to die for! Our hosts were so friendly and helpful. Honestly can't emphasise enough how much you need to visit this site. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Stayed Friday-Monday September and was so lovely! Beds are super comfortable, the outdoor shower and bath are AMAZING, and the chocolate cake on arrival was TASTY! Came with a mixed group of 16 (two outside in a tipi) and all slept very comfortably. Had three lovely evenings round the camp fire with the nearest and dearest. Overall thoroughly enjoyable, would highly recommend! Thanks to Jack, Andy and Josie!

Both families have had the most fantastic, muddy week! Lots of sdventures, walks, and fires enjoyed by all from age 1 to 30 something...!
We'd all love to come back again soon. Many thanks for your kind and thoughtful hospitality.

All we can say is WOW! The place is amazing and then some!!! We cannot fault one thing at all and would highly recommend anyone to go there! The whole camp was built with love and nothing was too much trouble for the owners Josie and Andrew. Josie even baked us the most delicious cake for us to have with tea on our arrival! Who does that???? Josie does! I cannot list the great points about this place as there are too many! Everything you could possibly need is thought of and is there! My kids were so excited about making fires that they used all the wood. Andrew kindly brought us some straight up for a very small charge and when they used it all again he brought them some more! It's very private but you know they are there to look after you. The yurts are beautiful and very comfortable. We will definitely be back!!!!! The photos look great but it's so more lovely when you stay there. Thank you so much xxx
